Natal Aspects – Jupiter in the 12th House

As the old ruler of Pisces, Jupiter has a natural affinity with the house of the unconscious mind and collective energy.

This placement often brings an underlying belief that everything will be OK despite whatever else is happening. It can also manifest as something or someone coming to save the day when all else seems lost.If you have Jupiter in the 12th house, you are likely to develop a strong sense of spirit or guiding divine force. You may be on a religious or spiritual path or inclined towards helping others in need. You may need time to contemplate, pray or meditate. Often those with this placement express that they feel like they have a guardian angel watching over them.

The 12th house is connected to what you sacrifice or give up for the sake of others. When Jupiter is here, you offer to others your gift of understanding, wisdom and benevolence. Yours is a generous spirit. People with this placement may find happiness working with others who have fallen on hard times – prisons, hospitals and similar institutions may need your warmth and kindness. One of your saving graces is that you have an abiding belief that ultimately the world is a good place and the universe wants the best for each of us. You have the ability to help others believe in themselves.

Jupiter shows where you find meaning in the world. In the darkest, most hidden place in the chart, this placement encourages you towards an inner path of discovery. You may have a spiritual goal you want to achieve. Spiritual texts, personal development and exploring any artistic talents will all help to stretch your powerful imagination. Perhaps one of the greatest journeys of this Jupiter is triggered because you want to understand – everything. The key to understanding however is self-discovery; roaming the inner reaches of your mind like an unknown country, delighting in all that you discover there. Understanding yourself helps you to unlock understanding everything else.

If Jupiter isn’t functioning well, the negative traits that can manifest are: – Over-indulgence in self-pity, trying to help everyone which leads to stretching yourself too thin, trying to help those who don’t want to be helped, trusting so much in a higher power you negate your own power, believing that you are always protected and therefore taking foolish risks (for example not wearing your seat-belt because you know the angels will look after you!), blindly following a guru, denying darker emotions or not being able to deal with the darker elements of life, unrealistic expectations based on idealism, indulging in drink or drugs to escape it all.

Consciously work with Jupiter to develop the most positive benefits of this
placement. Some suggestions are meditation and prayer, creating vision boards, learning to draw or paint, following a specific spiritual path or religion, seeking out those who inspire you, reading widely, working for a charity or with those in difficulty, keeping a gratitude journal, going on retreats, keeping a record of your dreams, practising healing or counselling, developing your psychic/intuitive abilities.

Jupiter in the 12th house speaks…

“The less you know, the more you believe.”

“Actually oddly enough, I think my work, the activism, will be forgotten. And I hope it will. Because I hope those problems will have gone away.”

Demi Moore
“I had an essence in my life that I was nothing.”

Buzz Aldrin
“Exploration is wired into our brains. If we can see the horizon, we want to know what’s beyond.”

“As someone who has experienced the isolating effects of hearing loss first-hand, I felt compelled to help educate others and encourage them to no longer suffer in silence and get help.”

Tom Hanks
“Truth is, I’ll never know all there is to know about you just as you will never know all there is to know about me. Humans are by nature too complicated to be understood fully. So, we can choose either to approach our fellow human beings with suspicion or to approach them with an open mind, a dash of optimism and a great deal of candour. ”

“There’s a difference between solitude and loneliness. I can understand the concept of being a monk for a while.”

Galileo Galilei
“We cannot teach people anything; we can only help them discover it within themselves.”

Martin Luther King
“I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made straight and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.”

  4. Hi Paula
Thank you for your comment. I am sorry to hear you are in a difficult situation and concerned that it is an abusive relationship. Your courage is there but maybe you need some help to tap into it. I would strongly advise contacting an organisation who specialises in helping women in abusive relationships so that you have the right kind of support.

You say that you are waiting for an angel to save you – Jupiter in the 12th house can also indicate that you can be your own angel. It is possible to save yourself by reaching out and asking for help. Sometimes being strong means asking for help. You don’t have to do it all alone.

  5. This placement is about giving right? The 12th house the really good parts of it are about being selfless and healing. How do I do that my Jupiter in the 12th house? How do I give? Where do I start? How can I heal myself so that I can heal others?

i have jupiter pisces and 12th house retrogade. i had great spiritual experiences, seeing things of future, i went in middle 2015 when venus was very next to earth and the light of venus was very strong to a park without illumination at 4:00 am, i saw a angel there but i did not see this angel as good thing, i saw him as a total psychopath, i follow the left hand path in a gnostic way, i feel i dont belong to this world, i`m even solipsist. i had been in a psychiatric ward for 2 times, i`m forced to psych drugs.

i think my “self“ give meaning to life. when life is very hard i accept the darkness of existence. i embrace the darkness of life, and i create a dark theatrality for me

i use too much the music, music give meaning to my life. i listen to dark kind of music, kinds of metal music, that are very dark, and instead of doing part of a lifestyle i create my own reality with this kind of art. music that is distortion, power, darkness.

i study math too and i hope when i finish university i can be free from the forced psych drugs

  8. Wow…. well, 12th house…. I have the Sun in the 12th… at 29 degrees59min Scorpio…. and the Moon in the 12th … 11 degrees Sag… 2 degrees before the Ascendant… geeze… I AM SO TIRED…

  9. Júpiter in the 12th house Conjunct Saturn in the 12th house, both in Libra. I have always felt connected to God, and a higher calling. I also have my sun in Scorpio Conjunct my ascendant 15 degrees.

  10. I read this with interest. I have 12th house north node in Capricorn and Jupiter is also there. It seems so incongruous. How do I figure it out?
