This Week in Astrology – 22nd – 28th July 2013

Pic103Things are settling into a new rhythm as I work from the peace of my living room. Did you notice the shift as Mercury turned direct? I did. I was about to go to bed but suddenly I had words tumbling in my head that I had to write down! As Mercury stationed, I heard the train coming. I love the change of pace and the sudden boost of energy but I’m mindful of the week ahead.

It’s another busy week in the cosmos although we have a lull here and there. Monday (Moonday) 22nd July kicks us off with a Full Moon in Aquarius, the first of two Full Moons in a row in this sign. It feels a bit like the Moon is saying, “hey if you don’t get it right first time round, I’ll give you another go, you know, because I’m all for giving everyone a fighting chance”. It’s like rolling the dice, hoping for a double six.

With Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius currently retrograde and at the apex of a t-square with Jupiter and Pluto opposite each other, this is an ongoing trial that we will each internalise in our own way according to the house/s of our natal chart which will be affected. Mars is part of the picture in this first Full Moon, in conjunction with Jupiter in Cancer and boiling the water lying opposite Pluto. I hear the sound of my Grandmother’s old fashioned kettle squealing to say the water is hot! Uranus retrograde is searching for faulty internal wiring and with this Moon, it’s possible it could put you on a short fuse. That said, at least you’ll know what needs fixing in order for the power to flow more effectively and efficiently.

I wrote all about the Full Moon here but if you missed it, well, it’s a loud and pushy and in your face when all you want is a bit of peace and quiet away from the throng. It will take some self-discipline and a strong vision of what you want to keep your feet firmly on the ground. Breathe deep and let the noise go over your head if you can.

On the 23rd July, Mercury meets up with Black Moon Lilith (true position) in Cancer so some issues about what is and what isn’t acceptable to say may come up. Not everyone is in the space for hearing the truth so choose your moment. On the plus side, your intuition is probably bang on, so keep hold of that thought as it may serve your in the future.

The 24th and 25th July are the lull we we’ll appreciate in amongst the bigger aspects. On the 24th July, Chiron makes a flowing trine to Psyche offering the chance to get rid of old ghosts and soothe the monsters that lurk in your own psyche. And on the 25th July, we have a lovely gentle day as the Moon transiting through Pisces makes a whole swathe of positive aspects to the rest of the gang. Hugs all round 🙂

We get back to it on Friday 26th July as Venus in Virgo opposes Neptune whilst at the same time sextiling Saturn. It’s a kind of ‘dance as you do the housework’ day. Venus is easily distracted here so put plans in place to have a little daydream time so that you can come back to the work that needs to be done.

Saturday 27th July is the one to watch with Mars finally going head to head with Pluto as the opposition becomes exact. It’s a tough aspect that will test your metal. With the Sun also making a quincunx to Neptune on the same day, there’s a danger of feeling it’s just all too much and you can’t possibly see how you can take the road the universe is so blithely highlighting. It makes me think about those times when my spirit guide has asked me to trust and I’ve snapped back – you don’t have to pay the bills!

But trust is key here. There’s a lot suspicion going on with Mars and Pluto which makes everyone tense. Rather than trying to control the outside environment, trust that you can do what you need to do – then do it.

The end of the week sees a square between the Sun and Saturn on the 28th July so don’t be surprised if you or a loved one wakes up like a bear with a sore head. This aspect however reminds you that the more you resist, the tougher things will be. Venus sextile Jupiter on the same day is like a spoonful of sugar to make the medicine go down. If you can get your responsibilities out of the way early, you can make time for some much needed quality time later in the day. A little good cheer lifts the weight of other burdens.

Don’t forget, I’ll be announcing the winner of the draw to win a free astro-dream interpretation on Monday evening. If you want to enter and haven’t yet, leave a comment on that post saying you would like to enter by 4pm 22nd July and I will put your name in the draw. You can email me is you prefer at [email protected]

Plus – another reminder, dream interpretation and astro dream interpretation are on special offer from the Full Moon to the Grand Sextile (22nd – 29th July). Check out the offerings page…

And lastly, I am also now offering free distance healing on a monthly basis to anyone who requests it. Details are also on the offerings page.

  1. Thank you so much! We are in a new stage. I am a fan of Mad Men and this summer is feeling like Season 2 when the demons of Don Draper started showing out and the strange direction he went. That is what my summer feels like a strange path off the road.

  2. Hi Leah! Looks like the full moon constellation will be the natal planets of the new royal baby … is that good or bad?

  3. Hi Leah, I’m writing here because this is about last week.

Are events replicating? When something happens somewhere must a similar event happen somewhere else?

How is it possible that in Spain one train conductor makes a mistake that sends its train into abyss, and shortly thereafter the same happens in Italy to a bus?

    Are these connected?
    Just wondering …

  4. Hi Laura – I was just talking about this this afternoon. In the UK as well, a double decker bus driver drove under a too low bridge ripping the top off the bus – people injured but not killed thankfully but a similar theme.

It’s hard to say – there is certainly some sense of connection between these incidents. In all cases it seems like the driver is at fault in some way although this isn’t clear yet – but generally it’s a sense of things going out of control and we need to be looking where we are going and paying attention to the signs. That is how I would read it symbolically. Symbolism and astrology aside, I just feel desperately sad for all those involved – just horrible.
