Convention, conservation, rules, structure and foundations are all brought to the fore as we get a strong dose of Capricorn energy with the Sun, Moon, Venus, Mercury and Pluto all gathered in this sign. Venus is conjunct Pluto, intensifying this earthy energy and square Uranus. What we have and what we want may be two very different things. There’s a possibility of feeling stuck in a rut, desperate to change something, anything – but Capricorn says you’ve got to get real and figure out exactly where you are before trying to build new structures.
Can you take the pressure? asks this New Moon. Can you stand tall when responsibilities are heaped upon you? Do you feel in charge, able to manage yourself and your time? It’s just as important to be able to delegate when necessary. Feeling guilty because you can’t do it all yourself is not a healthy stick to beat yourself with.
The New Moon is semi-sextile ruler Saturn who is now teetering at the very end of Scorpio and there’s a semi-square from the Moon to Mars too. These could be testing times. It’s like the Moon is saying, are you really ready for what’s to come?
A wide conjunction to Mercury and an even wider trine to Jupiter have a mild steadying influence although this lunation still feels out on a limb slightly. You could feel stuck with it – whatever it is and you’ve got to deal with it, like it or not. But there’s a curious kind of pleasure in facing it, a feeling of knowing you can handle what is asked of you. It’s about anchoring yourself in what is good in your life. It’s about knowing that you can take care of yourself and trusting your inner parent to guide you through. Step into your own authority. Tune in to your inner wise woman/man. If you’ve been living by someone else’s rules, now might be the time to create your own. Question your conditioning. With the re-birth of the Solstice Sun and the fast following New Moon, this is a perfect time to set an intention regarding ambitions. Who or what do you aspire to be?
New Moon in Capricorn December 2014 – Chart
Capricorn is the sign of tradition and during the festive season many of us follow certain traditional patterns of celebration. Many people gather together with their families, the young and the old exchanging stories, the sharing of food and gifts.
The Sabian symbol for the New Moon is :-
An Indian Chief Claims Power From The Assembled Tribe
There is great power in being connected to those who want the best for you and who respect you for who you are. In any relationship though there is also responsibility, obligation, duty. Sometimes we forget how to treat each other. Sometimes we take each other for granted. Your tribe may be your family or your friends or a little of both. With the Moon conjunct Mercury and trine Jupiter, make time to just talk with those you love. Quality time together is the foundation of all your relationships. Not only does it empower each member of your ‘tribe’ but it also brings a sense of belonging too.
With Saturn, the ruler of this Moon in a growing square to Neptune, there is also an air of nostalgia with this lunation. Maybe there is the ache of missing someone or the sadness at how times have changed. Perhaps things aren’t quite as you wish them to be. With the Moon in practical Capricorn, it’s about making the best of what you have. Our families, our tribes aren’t always what we want them to be. Release any expectation of how things ‘should’ be to enjoy what is real and present.
Wishing all my readers a fabulous festive season and a peaceful 2015.
