Transiting North Node in Virgo

Transiting North Node in Virgo The North Node entered Virgo and South Node entered Pisces at 01:02 UT on the 12th November 2015. The Nodes will remain in these signs until the 9th May 2017. In my 2015 overview, I mentioned that the North Node in Virgo is like hiring a clean up crew to tidy up the mess left by the Uranus-Pluto square. Virgo will do her very best to make things neat and tidy no matter how much the mess to begin with. Virgo is about getting back to practicalities. It's about piecing things together, examining all the parts and implementing real world solutions. Under Virgo's beady eye, we must be methodical, attend to details and refine skills we have in order to make our lives run more efficiently and effectively. It's possible that there may be more focus in the mundane world on matters connected to health and disease, solving problems around water pollution and finding practical solutions for easing the suffering for mass victims of war or natural disasters. On a global level, we need to stop dreaming and start doing. In your own chart, the house where the North Node is transiting shows WHERE you are being challenged to develop. It's a cosmic signpost which says, this area of life needs attention and it is necessary for your soul's growth. The sign of the transiting North Node shows HOW this can be achieved. Some call the North Node the 'Dragon's Head' so we could say that the area of life indicated by the passage of the North Node is what will feed your dragon - and your soul. But what goes in, must come out so it is at the Dragon's Tail we find things that drain us and the things that must be released. The house of the transiting South Node shows where we are inclined to get stuck and can indicate a certain amount of vulnerability, especially in sensitive Pisces. Generally speaking, we could say that the South Node shows the problem and the North Node the resolution but it's important to remember that the best of the South Node's qualities can be given over to the task of the North Node. So for example, Pisces has a wonderful imagination but we need Virgo who has the skill to manifest those beautiful ideas into a work of art. Where the houses show what area of life is affected, the sign shows how we can best approach our karmic quest. So with Virgo, as I mentioned above, we are looking at the details, putting things in order, upping our skill-set and generally taking better care of that area of life. For the first year of this transit, we'll also have Jupiter in Virgo too, so the cosmic message is amplified and we are given even more opportunity to make the best of the areas of life affected - but we must practice what we preach and seek to improve in every way we can. To give you a personal example, the North Node in Virgo transit will mostly take place in my 2nd house. So I will be looking to improve my financial base through being more organised and efficient, streamlining my spending and dealing with debts accrued in the past when I was working a normal day job that paid a pittance (South Node in Pisces transiting the 8th house). As the 8th house is about other people's money (including loans, grants and other forms of financial support), my karmic mission right now is to stand on my own two feet financially (North Node in 2nd house). I can't be looking for anyone else to rescue me (8th house Pisces). I have to ensure I have a firm grip on what comes in and what goes out and to build my savings so that I can fulfil my dreams (Pisces). After all, a dream without a plan is just a dream says Virgo. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, so we need to put our thinking caps on with this transit. It's about listening to your heart but using your head. Pisces is empathic and compassionate but those who are inclined try to 'save' others, especially in relationships may be in for a rude awakening. The Node's transit through Virgo asks us to let go of co-dependency and set some boundaries in place. Virgo loves to help but Pisces can make us a slave. It's about sorting the wheat from the chaff. See the best in others but don't allow others to take advantage. My Gran always used to say that the Gods help those who help themselves. I have strong belief in the power of prayer and ritual (Pisces) but it needs to be accompanied by good old fashioned hard work (Virgo). There's little point praying for a job or casting a spell if you haven't done your C.V and applied for any positions. Your helper planet during this transit Look to the position of your natal Mercury as he will be your helper planet during this transit. Going back to my own example. Mercury is in my 9th house in Aries and he is the ruler of my 2nd house. Generally speaking, my natal chart shows that money can come through writing, speaking, communicating, divination (a 9th house affair) and through connections overseas. Aries shows that I need to be courageous in my approach, take the lead and to be confident in communicating my ideas. As the 9th house is also about belief, this indicates that what I believe, what I really think about money has a direct affect on my income. All these natal attributes are available for me to work with during the North Node's transit through Virgo. They are of course available at any time as natal potential but the North Node transiting Virgo specifically calls Mercury into service. House Keywords The Nodes move backwards (retrograde) through the houses of your chart. Its more than likely that the North Node will begin its Virgo journey in one house but complete that journey in the preceding house. The area of life brought into focus will change but the method of approach will still be all Virgo. Below I have written some keywords for those that don't know the meaning of the houses. 1st House - 7th house 1. Self, your approach to the world, well-being, how others see you, how you project yourself. 7.

It’s about piecing things together, examining all the parts and implementing real world solutions. Under Virgo’s beady eye, we must be methodical, attend to details and refine skills we have in order to make our lives run more efficiently and effectively. It’s possible that there may be more focus in the mundane world on matters connected to health and disease, solving problems around water pollution and finding practical solutions for easing the suffering for mass victims of war or natural disasters. On a global level, we need to stop dreaming and start doing.

In your own chart, the house where the North Node is transiting shows where you are being challenged to develop. It’s a cosmic signpost which says, this area of life needs attention and it is necessary for your soul’s growth. The sign of the transiting North Node shows how this can be achieved.

Some call the North Node the ‘Dragon’s Head’ so we could say that the area of life indicated by the passage of the North Node is what will feed your dragon – and your soul. But what goes in, must come out so it is at the Dragon’s Tail we find things that drain us and the things that must be released. 1. Awesome article and I love how you explained it all out. It confirmed that I had the nodes in the right houses, etc. But not everyone might have known how to figure it out. Thanks Leah!

  2. thanks so much for this, i am always wanting to learn more about the nodes in general 🙂 i’m kind of opposite of you in placements, the north node is transiting my 8th house in virgo (had my nodal return this year in libra and so much makes sense now after reading this- this has been a year of much enlightening and awakening.) my mercury is also in aries but in the third house! there is so much to chew on and ponder here and you make it understandable, which i appreciate. i have definitely been feeling that virgo energy in myself like never before in the past month or so.

  3. Hello Leah, what about intercepted houses…(Virgo/Libra versus 4/5th H).Rising sign Gemini, but transiting NN Virgo is in my 5th and not 4th. Thank you for your good work and sharing your thoughts.

  4. Hi Jokanda – I use Equal House in my work so I do not use intercepted houses. Generally speaking, if you prefer to use different house system, you would need to consider the meaning of the houses where the Nodes are transiting along with the sign positions.

  5. The last axis (libra-aries) was for me the south node in 1st/2nd house – and the 8th house.

At first it started out with ME-ME-ME… all about me. Also in my relationship(s).
Then… slowly, my Boyfriend and I have come closer to each other by prioritizing “us”, being more as a team than ourselves. That was some hard learning curve…

So now, Virgo is the 7th and Pisces the 1st house (again – I have a laaarge 1st house + 7th house).
The last past part of libra touched the 7th house also, so the themes will be a bit about the same, but how this virgo energy will play out I’m not sure. Mercury is in Scorpio, 9th house, so it’s def. about communication and truths/beliefs. But I guess it’s something you need to look back on and reflect upon, because the last transit wasn’t very obvious untill you looked back and thought about it…

Great blog post and thanks for sharing!

  6. Great article!! So glad I kept it until I had “time” to read! Definitely going to print this to refer to throughout this transit. Thank you! Namaste!

  7. The most simplified interpretation of this transit I’ve read, plus it helps that we share the same Leo Rising, natal Mercury in Aries 9th house, and Virgo 2nd house/Pisces 8th house transit. I’m a stay at home, homeschooling mom and I’m also the caregiver to my physically challenged daughter. I earned an income doing this however it’s not much to support myself and children. I’m currently working on and learning how to earn an income as a blogger.

  8. Thank you…my Natal North Node is 12th house Virgo so this has been helpful not just for this transit, but for my natal chart understanding as well.

My Virgo North Node in 12th house has felt complicated, as my Sun, south node and Mercury are all in Pisces. In a way, it feels my work in the world and service work (6th house) needs the Piscean touch, while my spiritual work (12th house) needs Virgo’s rigor, discipline and structure.

  9. This is an excellent article, very clear and helpful. Thank you! Those of us with natal Pisces North Nodes feel a little dizzy I think, at figuring out how add this transital work to a life that is basically its opposite!

In other words, how do you do the work successfully of the North Node being on your natal South Node?

(I have Pisces NN in the 4th house/Virgo SN in the 10th. Have always struggled with balance in home/career, big picture-dreaming/details-working, and practical analysis/spiritual belief.)

  10. Hi Joy
Thanks for your comment. Some ways to work with the NN conjunct the SN transit would be jounalling, shadow work, therapy, coming to terms with the past, reflecting on your past and seeing how certain choices you made brought you to where you are now. Looking at you ingrained habits and comfort zone. Looking at what you do well and how well you have used this so far and perhaps all in relation to your career/home dilemma. Essentially it’s about getting down to a root understanding of where this struggle comes from.

    Blessings
    Leah

  11. Thank you. I find your article clear to read and understand, which is great. I’m an aspiring writer with NN. transiting my first house. I’d like to know how I can better help myself in this area.

“Look to the position of your natal Mercury as he will be your helper planet during this transit.”

My natal Mercury resides in Scorpio in the third house. Pluto is in my natal 2nd house and transiting my fifth. Any ideas?

  12. Hello, thank you very much for this post. I was doing a bit of research on transiting nodes’ aspects to natal nodes but I couldn’t find any enlightening information. My natal north node is in Scorpio in the second house, and the transiting node in Virgo will make a sextile aspect in a month or so. Do you think it’s going to be significative, being a soft aspect (the conjunction and hard aspects are more mentioned) and in the 12th house? perhaps a more spiritual perspective of my values? It would be great to read your thoughts on this. Thank you!

  13. u gave me a whole different perspective. my n node is in virgo/ s node pisces natal 1 st house 1/7 axis, but transisting 2/8 right now. Yes, i need to really focus on my fanancial well being and stop worrying about saving others thru failed relationships, that pisces energy. I have natal Mercury in Cancer in 11 th house so since Mercury rules Virgo, I need to take my dreamy cancer/ pisces head out of the clouds and be more practical in my approach to money, My moon is in Virgo in 1st, so I do have a penchant to be more practical, Somehow that pisced theme always seems to win! I always wanted someone to “save me” so to speak. I have built up this resentment within myself of always having to take care of other ppl. Well, Not anymore. Im taking care of me first. Sometimes I just dnt want that pisces energy because it’s so defeating especially in the 7th house. Idnkt, hope that makes sense.

  14. Wow! Thank you. I also have the north node in 2nd house (15 March 1978) and finances and debt, particularly through my partner, is a massive issue at the moment and struggling to find a way out. Let’s hope by the end of this transit it will get better.

  15. Been in node reversal since 06/04/2016 – I’m 28. Got a Natal North Node in Pisces, the 12th house. (The 12th house cusp, however, is Aquarius).

Life recently got me out of school and “forced” me to work. I began to comply, grudgingly following the path of my Natal South and the Transiting North. Months pass, and now my vehicle has died. In, Az where I live, it’s so spread out- to lose a vehicle makes it impossible to work.

It’s as if two gods are fighting and I’m stuck on a shelf for the moment. My heart has already made the choice to abandon Virgo 6, and play in the unconscious realm. Even if unemployment leads me to homelessness and starvation, I choose Pisces 12. That’s how turned off I am by judgemental people, control freaks, rowdy customers, and trying to manage them with low energy levels, depression, and constant fatigue. I’d rather starve and be exposed to the elements.

I’m beginning to learn that low blood sugar and fatigue are inducing strange visions with remarkable details…

  16. Tomorrow the Transiting North Node will cross over my Ascendant until Jan 12th and then at 3 degrees is is my natal 12H pluto and at 1 degree opposite 6H mars and 0 degree opposite 6H Chiron.

    Thanks for the informative article.

  17. My North node is in my fourth house at 5 degrees Virgo. I am 37 and just happened to notice that the transiting North node is at 3 degrees Virgo. The most interesting thing about this to me is that I am currently 37 weeks and 4 days pregnant. (Due date: 3/3/17) Any thoughts?

  18. Benevolent baby blessings !!! You will easily align with the spirit of yr child. Same tribe feeling. Mothering will crystallize your love & purpose & direction in life. May lead to teaching from this seminal living initiation
Birthing will give you grounded focus on what is truly essential. Good luck with the actualization of this awesome portal potential .
