Full Moon in Taurus November 2016 – Treasure

dancer-of-delhi-betalo-rubino-1916The Full Moon occurs at 13:52 (UT) on the 14th November 2016 at 22Β°Ta37′. This Moon is a supermoon and is the closest the Moon has been to Earth for 68 years. The close proximity of our satellite seems to highlight its energies, magnifying them, so that we can get up close and personal to this tactile Taurus Moon.

This lunation sets the Taurus Full Moon against the Scorpio Sun. In the dark waters of Scorpio we’re compelled to look below the surface, probe taboos and search for truths. In these secret places, distrust breeds as fast as our fears. Ruled by Pluto, Scorpio is conscious of the concept of power, specifically who has it and who doesn’t. Scorpio also relates to sex, the little death, the ‘I’ll die if I don’t have them‘ extremes that love and lust can take us to. Taurus however doesn’t bat an eyelid. It’s blissfully happy with a roll in the hay followed by a fine meal or vice versa. Emotionally we need a break from the maelstrom of complex Scorpio and to create some stability and simplicity through Taurus.

Slow down. Stop and smell the roses. Get grounded and real. With pleasure loving Venus as ruler of Taurus, indulge your senses by stimulating them with sights, scents, tastes and sounds. Pay attention to how your body feels and let it have a little of what it fancies – yes, chocolate cake is allowed!

During this Full Moon, it’s time to consider what you hold most dear, what really matters to you. Even with the opposing Sun in Scorpio spotlighting the profound transformation we are going through, this is a time when we can relinquish control and simply surrender to the moment, especially as the Moon is trine to Pluto. We’re empowered when we enjoy the present, neither mourning the past nor dreading the future. We’re stronger when we let go of the toxic need to be drawn into intrigues and power plays. This Moon is a leveller that brings us home to ourselves and our physical body. The world out there can wait says Taurus. Be patient. Reconnect with Mother Earth.

Black Moon Lilith is conjunct the Sun which means there are still old ghosts stirring in the psyche. The Taurus Moon can see them but isn’t going to get scared off the playing field. This Moon knows that the more grounded we are in reality, the easier it is to deal with our fears, turning them into raw, creative potential.

The child-like, sensitive Moon is exalted in comfortable Taurus. Sometimes the best thing we can do is nurture ourselves with good home-cooked food and a pair of fluffy slippers. Whilst there’s a place for the deep psycho-analysis of Scorpio, there is also the need to be able to support ourselves through practical means. All the navel gazing in the world won’t put food on the table and pay the gas bill. These are the things that Taurus is concerned with – the simple aspects of life that make the difference in whether we survive or whether we thrive.

At this lunation, consider what you need in order to bring more stability in your life. The Moon’s sextile to Chiron suggests that healing comes from building a sense of security, both financially and emotionally. Organise your finances and do your accounts. Look at what resources you have available to you. Is your self esteem at a healthy level or could it do with some healing work? Low self esteem can generate poverty consciousness as well as a sore bank balance. Taurus reminds us that the Earth is abundant. Security starts from within.

Venus, the ruler of this lunation is technically unaspected as she makes no major ptolemic aspects to any of the other planets. This makes her energy a little harder to reach so it’s important to make the effort to appreciate what we have. Gratitude is key to our evolution as Venus trines the North Node.

The Sabian symbol of this Full Moon is :-

A Jewellery Shop Filled With Valuable Gems

This symbol speaks of those things that are precious. In many ways, what we value defines us. Look around your home at the items you own and hone in on those that have special meaning to you. Consider what they say about you and your life. Remind yourself that you are worthy of the gifts life brings. Look to what enriches you and where you are already wealthy.

Gemstones and crystals are created deep within the Earth, in darkness, under pressure. This Full Moon in Taurus, gives us a chance to appreciate the treasures gained from difficult circumstances, the beauty that is born from the Scorpionic depths of death and despair. Each life trauma unearths a jewel for the rich crown of wisdom. Now is the time to sit back, relax and enjoy the rewards.
