Full Moon in Virgo March 2018 – Revisioning

the-veil-1898The Full Moon occurs at 00:51 (UT) on March 2, 2018 at 11°Vi23′.

Virgo is a practical Earth sign, adaptable and dexterous as it is ruled by Mercury. Under Virgo’s critical eye, details come into sharp focus. As this sign opposes spiritual Pisces, the urge is to create heaven on Earth. Virgo is the humble apprentice, applying the teachings of their master on a day to day basis. Virgo is also the skilled seamstress, a nurse or a volunteer digging out toilets in a ravaged land. Instinctively there is a need to be of service. With Virgo at work, we want to make improvements. We hone skills, jiggle the rota and analyse data. We’re not looking for praise or accolades. Our satisfaction comes from a job well done, greater efficiency and better health.

This Full Moon in Virgo however, has her work cut out for her as she opposes both the Sun and Neptune in Pisces. The Moon-Sun opposition sets the conscious mind at odds with the unconscious and shadow material can be projected on others. The Moon-Neptune opposition is slippery, reflecting only what we want to see.  Some may take advantage of Virgo’s natural desire to help, hoodwinking us into giving more than we have to give. It’s important that we remain discerning, carefully choosing who needs our help and where our energies would be most effectively placed.

There are six bodies swimming with the Fishes. With Mercury, the ruler of this lunation amongst them, it could feel like everything we touch just flows through our fingers. It’s hard to contain and difficult to organise. We could also feel intellectually compromised as a lack of planets in air signs makes it hard to think. What’s more, the atmosphere is super-sensitive which is challenging for the no-nonsense Virgo Moon.

In Pisces our guard is down. We’re soft and malleable, changeable, utterly ruled by a swell of emotion. And Virgo doesn’t know what to do with it. Instinctively she wants to put it all in order but there’s so much that feels out of place that we feel in danger of being overwhelmed. Secretly, the Virgo Moon could dream of emulating Mickey Mouse in the Sorcerer’s apprentice, clicking her fingers to magic the mess away. The Moon’s sesquiquadrate to wired Uranus could play on Virgo’s sensitive nerves. Change is possible, but we can’t do it all at once. New techniques and methods may be needed but we can’t make them work immediately.

The great sea of the collective unconscious is surging. In the waters of Pisces, we want unity and connection. The urge is to merge and to live together in sweet heavenly harmony. In this sign we feel each other’s sorrow. Compassion flows and we begin to envision ideal scenarios to ease suffering and promote cohesion. But Mercury’s square to angry Mars in far-sighted Sagittarius suggests the problem is that not everyone has the same vision. Mars is currently travelling with Vesta; whose action is to concentrate. Some may be passionately devoted to their philosophy and on a crusade to keep the light of their belief alive.

Thankfully we do have an anchor, a rock to cling to in the maelstrom. The Full Moon trines sensible Saturn in Capricorn. Saturn reminds us that we can take it slow. We don’t have to resolve everything at once. If we feel lost, all we need to do is to touch base with something real and tangible. Focusing on the practicalities, something Virgo is good at anyway, will help to channel the rising tide of emotions into something constructive.

We can change the rules of how we work. We can take on the authorities. We can speak to the boss or the government agency involved. We can support a grassroots project or simply get our own house in order so that we have time and energy available to deal with wider problems. If health is suffering, we can engage the help of an expert. If lack of skill or information is holding us back, we can ask for guidance. We can eat clean, hoover the house or take a training course. It’s about being responsible and accountable, climbing the mountain one step at a time. It’s about finishing what we started.

Mercury’s conjunctions to Venus and Chiron shows that speaking from the heart can go a long way towards addressing the wounds between us. These three bodies all trine wise Jupiter in Scorpio as well so talking about what hurts builds bridges and deepens bonds. The Mercury-Pluto sextile invites us to speak the truth, to talk about the hard stuff. There is also the potential to channel the whisper of our intuition into something that has real power to change the structure of our lives.

The Moon is on the Sabian symbol: –

After The Wedding, The Groom Snatches The Veil Away From His Bride

It is important that we see things as they are. The mass of planets in Pisces injects an imaginative, dreamy state of mind. Now that the truth has been unveiled, it may be necessary to adjust our vision to what is real and present. No matter how much we wish for things to be different, we can only work with what is in the here and now. Neither can we pretend to be anything other than who we are. We do not have to be perfect to be loved.
