The Lunar eclipse takes place at 09:29 (UT) on November 30, 2020 at 08°Ge38′.
The Moon is the only body in the skies that is in an air sign. It seems like our focus and choices are being narrowed. There are important decisions to make around this time, choices that will play a part in our unfolding future. Full Moons are a time of culmination, conclusion, closure, completion but it’s out of the ordinary as the Moon is connected to the Nodes, the Gates of Karma. Eclipse season puts us in touch with our soul’s journey and events that occur around this time serve to realign us to our path.
Themes that arise with Gemini and the global 3rd house are centred around mind and communication, schools and learning, local transport systems, newspapers, aunts, uncles and siblings. It’s possible that these themes may be uppermost either personally or collectively.

As the Moon is in Gemini and the Sun in Sagittarius, we are also called to explore what we know (Gemini) versus what we believe (Sagittarius). It’s important that we listen, hear all sides of the story and focus on details. Themes of duality are also in play. Gemini is a sign that likes to categorise things as this or that, black or white – stick a label on it, give it a name. But not everything in life is so clear cut. The Moon is sesquiquadrate Pluto suggesting that we are on a slippery slope to thinking in extremes. We need to make room for grey areas and alternate ideas.
Catastrophic thinking is a no-no. Mercury, the ruler of this lunation is in intense Scorpio but forms helpful sextiles to Saturn and Pallas. It tells us that we need to keep our head, control our thoughts (rather than trying to control what is outside of us), lean into old wisdom and past experience for answers. Thoughts and feelings are uniquely bound so we may have a lesson in how shifting our thoughts can change our feelings and vice versa. It seems like this is a time of powerful realisations.
Eclipses have a way of revealing that which was unseen before. News or information that comes to light around this time serves to help us make important choices or decisions. A conversation could open a whole new area of growth. It’s also possible that a new route is revealed or an old option that we once discarded presents itself again. ‘Take a second look’, says the cosmos. What was unseen before is now in view. A sextile from the eclipsed Moon to Chiron suggests that there is an opportunity to heal an old wound that may irrevocably change the way we think. When we change our thoughts, we change our future.
If you would like to hear more about this eclipse, I recorded a 35 minute astro-tarot reading over on my Patreon on the $1 tier. In that recording, I talk about asteroids Spirit and DNA and how they connect to this eclipse, along with the Sabian symbol. I also briefly discuss the significance of this eclipse in the US chart.
