Full Moon in Libra March 2021

The Full Moon takes place at 19:48 (BST) on March 28, 2021 at 08°Li18′.

With the Moon shining from Libra, the focus is on relationships, harmony, balance, justice, compromise, fairness, equality, diplomacy and peace. As the Moon opposes the Sun in Aries, we must look at how to balance our needs against the needs of others. The Sun is also conjoined with Venus and Chiron which speaks of vulnerability, sensitivity, the fear of being hurt, rejected, unloved, unappreciated. With all this Aries energy, we could be easily triggered if we feel unseen or unheard. It may seem easier to fiercely defend our independence, play the field instead of committing, act as if we are strong when really we feel weak as a kitten. But the Libra Moon’s need for connection tells us that we can’t do it all alone, we can’t be an island, we need support, love, a soft spot to fall.

Chiron’s long transit through Aries tells us that this is a time of being proactive about our personal healing. We can’t just withdraw, lick our wounds, hide from the hurt. Instead, addressing our suffering is precisely what will make us strong. As this is a Full Moon, we have an opportunity to release old pain and clear the way for better relationships – both with others and with ourselves. Yes, there is some anxiety as the Moon forms a tight quincunx to Uranus. We don’t know where life is headed, we only know that nothing will be the same. But still, if we can accept life’s unpredictable edge, we might also see that changes now will free us later down the line.

Despite the tension from the oppositions in this chart, the Moon is well supported in a Grand Air Trine with Saturn in Aquarius and Mars conjunct the North Node in Gemini. If we feel like we are tipping ungainly from side to side or losing our cool, we can lean into this pattern. It’s about being respectful of each other’s differences, maintaining a mature approach, practising detachment (without emotionally cutting off), committing to do the necessary work, committing for the long term, finding a win-win, building friendships and communities. We need to be proactive about keeping a dialogue going. Talk to one another, find out facts, make assertive choices with a clear head and a strong connection to your gut feelings. Saturn and Mars bring us the potential for stability along with emotional (and physical!) muscle building. This is part of the foundation for a sustainable future and cohesive society.

The Sabian symbol of the Full Moon is :-

‘Three “Old Masters” Hanging On The Wall Of A Special Room In An Art Gallery’.

In the context of this lunation, this symbol reminds us to look for the beauty. When we look for the best in each other, we create a world that is extraordinary and timeless. It’s also about try, try and try again – practice the art of relating, the art of self-love, the art of finding inner harmony. The more we practice, the better we get until one day, the vision is made manifest.
