Transiting North Node in Virgo The North Node entered Virgo and South Node entered Pisces at 01:02 UT on the 12th November 2015. The Nodes will remain in these signs until the 9th May 2017. In my 2015 overview, I mentioned that the North Node in Virgo is like hiring a clean up crew to tidy up the mess left by the Uranus-Pluto square. Virgo will do her very best to make things neat and tidy no matter how much the mess to begin with. Virgo is about getting back to practicalities. It's about piecing things together, examining all the parts and implementing real world solutions. Under Virgo's beady eye, we must be methodical, attend to details and refine skills we have in order to make our lives run more efficiently and effectively. It's possible that there may be more focus in the mundane world on matters connected to health and disease, solving problems around water pollution and finding practical solutions for easing the suffering for mass victims of war or natural disasters. On a global level, we need to stop dreaming and start doing. In your own chart, the house where the North Node is transiting shows WHERE you are being challenged to develop. It's a cosmic signpost which says, this area of life needs attention and it is necessary for your soul's growth. The sign of the transiting North Node shows HOW this can be achieved. Some call the North Node the 'Dragon's Head' so we could say that the area of life indicated by the passage of the North Node is what will feed your dragon - and your soul. But what goes in, must come out so it is at the Dragon's Tail we find things that drain us and the things that must be released. The house of the transiting South Node shows where we are inclined to get stuck and can indicate a certain amount of vulnerability, especially in sensitive Pisces. Generally speaking, we could say that the South Node shows the problem and the North Node the resolution but it's important to remember that the best of the South Node's qualities can be given over to the task of the North Node. So for example, Pisces has a wonderful imagination but we need Virgo who has the skill to manifest those beautiful ideas into a work of art. Where the houses show what area of life is affected, the sign shows how we can best approach our karmic quest. So with Virgo, as I mentioned above, we are looking at the details, putting things in order, upping our skill-set and generally taking better care of that area of life. For the first year of this transit, we'll also have Jupiter in Virgo too, so the cosmic message is amplified and we are given even more opportunity to make the best of the areas of life affected - but we must practice what we preach and seek to improve in every way we can. To give you a personal example, the North Node in Virgo transit will mostly take place in my 2nd house. So I will be looking to improve my financial base through being more organised and efficient, streamlining my spending and dealing with debts accrued in the past when I was working a normal day job that paid a pittance (South Node in Pisces transiting the 8th house). As the 8th house is about other people's money (including loans, grants and other forms of financial support), my karmic mission right now is to stand on my own two feet financially (North Node in 2nd house). I can't be looking for anyone else to rescue me (8th house Pisces). I have to ensure I have a firm grip on what comes in and what goes out and to build my savings so that I can fulfil my dreams (Pisces). After all, a dream without a plan is just a dream says Virgo. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, so we need to put our thinking caps on with this transit. It's about listening to your heart but using your head. Pisces is empathic and compassionate but those who are inclined try to 'save' others, especially in relationships may be in for a rude awakening. The Node's transit through Virgo asks us to let go of co-dependency and set some boundaries in place. Virgo loves to help but Pisces can make us a slave. It's about sorting the wheat from the chaff. See the best in others but don't allow others to take advantage. My Gran always used to say that the Gods help those who help themselves. I have strong belief in the power of prayer and ritual (Pisces) but it needs to be accompanied by good old fashioned hard work (Virgo). There's little point praying for a job or casting a spell if you haven't done your C.V and applied for any positions. Your helper planet during this transit Look to the position of your natal Mercury as he will be your helper planet during this transit. Going back to my own example. Mercury is in my 9th house in Aries and he is the ruler of my 2nd house. Generally speaking, my natal chart shows that money can come through writing, speaking, communicating, divination (a 9th house affair) and through connections overseas. Aries shows that I need to be courageous in my approach, take the lead and to be confident in communicating my ideas. As the 9th house is also about belief, this indicates that what I believe, what I really think about money has a direct affect on my income. All these natal attributes are available for me to work with during the North Node's transit through Virgo. They are of course available at any time as natal potential but the North Node transiting Virgo specifically calls Mercury into service. House Keywords The Nodes move backwards (retrograde) through the houses of your chart. Its more than likely that the North Node will begin its Virgo journey in one house but complete that journey in the preceding house. The area of life brought into focus will change but the method of approach will still be all Virgo. Below I have written some keywords for those that don't know the meaning of the houses. 1st House - 7th house 1. Self, your approach to the world, well-being, how others see you, how you project yourself. 7. Marriage, one to one relationships, business partnerships, how your relate, open enemies. 2nd House - 8th House 2. Money, resources, self esteem, your 'stuff (emotional or material), the basics, survival, personal values. 8. Shared resources, other people's stuff (emotional or material), intimacy, sex, transformations, death, inheritance, deep psychology. 3rd House - 9th house 3. Learning, school, your local environment, siblings, neighbours, communication and thinking. 9. Belief, long distance travel, publishing, study, in-laws, broadening horizons, philosophy, the search for meaning. 4th house - 10th house 4. Home, roots, childhood, family, private self, parents (Mother), emotional foundations. 10. Career, reputation, public image, parents (Father), status, recognition. 5th house - 11th house 5. creativity, children, self expression, risks, gambling, fun, hobbies 11. Friends, groups, networks, wishes, society, humanity, personal long term goals, priorities. 6th house - 12th house 6. Daily routine, the office, colleagues, employees, health, habits, pets 12. The unconscious mind, spirituality, self sabotage, rest, solitude, hospitals and other institutions, past lives, dreams, your blind spot. How to find where the transiting nodes are in your chart If you know your birth time, you can cast your chart for free by registering at www.astro.com. Once registered, click on 'Free Horoscopes' then choose 'Extended Chart Selection' under the 'Drawings and Calculations' option. On that page, select 'natal chart and transits', the house system you prefer (I use Equal House) and then scroll to the bottom of the page to select 'always use True Node'. You can then see the transiting planets including the North Node around your chart Sun sign/Rising sign Astrology If you aren't sure of your chart but know your rising sign, you can see which houses are generally affected below. If you don't know your time of birth, you can consider your solar houses affected by reading your Sun sign.
